What is Futureway Trust?

 Futureway Trust is a registered Christian charity, no’ 1086147, which was set up in 1999 to run Marriage Week each year, and to diversify into other relationship orientated areas of work, such as;

Donations

Your secure online tax efficient donation will help to develop our work in the UK and Europe. Scroll down this page to find out how easy it is to donate. See also how effective we are with donated income. You can examine our accounts on line and consider the sphere of influence we have developed measured against income.

Futureway Trust has three Trustees; Dr Carol Lawrence, John Bowen and Steve Gale and one Director, Richard Kane.

International Work

Following the success of Marriage Week here in the UK, Futureway is helping to form an international network of people who are starting, or considering starting Marriage Week’s in Switzerland, Czech Republic, Romania, Hungary, Sweden, Belgium, Norway and others too. The needs for teaching in some of these nations is very great, so the charity has also been sprearheading the training of leaders within some of these nations to equip them in family relationship skills training.

Portcullis Group

Here in the UK Futureway Trust has created the Portcullis group which involves senior figures from all the leading organizations with an interest in marriage who advise Futureway on Marriage Week.

Media Commentator

Richard Kane, Director of Futureway Trust has appeared on BBCTV news, Radio 4 news, Sky TV news, GMTV, Five Live, plus many other local, national and international media outlets. He argues the case for committed healthy marriage, from a research and faith basis.

Helping Couples

On a regular basis distressed couples contact Futureway looking for help and support, in times of crisis. 60 couples each year receive marriage preparation training, and approximately 50 couples receive marriage enrichment training.

Working with Prisoners

Almost every week, Futureway volunteers can be found working with some of the most hard to reach people in British society. They take small groups of prisoners and their wives or partners through a marriage enrichment course, within the prison itself. Topics include; love languages, emotional needs, forgiveness, communication and listening skills. Richard Kane says “almost all prisoners have poor relationship skills, which is part of why they are offenders, they really love it — it is transformational”

The course and the teaching team are helping us to unravel years of abuse, neglect and mistrust. We would never have gone on this course if he wasn’t in prison—so in a crazy way, getting locked up has been the best thing that could have happened to us”.

Donations

Our accounts are independently assessed by AJ Bennewith & Co, Chartered Accountants, and are available upon request.  We believe in working smart and avoiding infrastructure costs wherever possible, which means we keep admin and costs to a minimum using relational networking and technology.  If you would trust us with a donation, then we could continue to extend the work in Europe.
